Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
• Screenshots: Images you upload for processing
• Bookmarks: The extracted content, titles, URLs, and notes saved from your screenshots

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: Basic usage counts (daily sifts used, total bookmarks saved) to enforce free tier limits
• Subscription Status: Whether you have a free or paid account

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Location data
• Contacts or calendar data
• Browsing history outside of Siftify
• Analytics or behavioral tracking data

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve Siftify:

How We Process Screenshots

When you upload a screenshot:

1. The image is sent to our secure server
2. We use AI (Claude by Anthropic) to extract text and identify URLs
3. We may use a search service (SerpAPI) to find the original source URL
4. The extracted information is saved as a bookmark
5. The original screenshot is stored in secure cloud storage

Your screenshots are only used to create your bookmarks. We do not use them to train AI models or for any other purpose.

We use the following services to operate Siftify:

Data Storage and Security

• Location: Your data is stored on servers in the United States (Supabase infrastructure)
• Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Access: Only you can access your bookmarks and screenshots through your authenticated account

Data Retention

• Active accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active
• Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days
• Backups: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being purged

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Export

You can view all your saved bookmarks within the app. Data export functionality will be available in a future update.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:

1. Open Siftify
2. Go to Settings
3. Scroll to "Danger Zone"
4. Tap "Delete Account"
5. Confirm deletion

This action is irreversible and removes all your data from our servers.

Email Communications

We only send transactional emails (password resets, subscription confirmations). We do not send marketing emails.

Children's Privacy

Siftify is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@siftify.app.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell your data)
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise these rights, delete your account in the app or contact us at privacy@siftify.app.

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent

Legal Basis for Processing: We process your data based on contract performance (providing the Siftify service), legitimate interests (improving our service, preventing fraud), and consent (where applicable).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

• Posting the new policy in the app
• Updating the "Last Updated" date above
• Sending an email for material changes

Your continued use of Siftify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
